Syndicado Inc. Acquires Chasing Fortune Documentary From Take Action Films

Syndicado is very pleased to announce the acquisition of Take Action Films’ Chasing Fortune, a documentary that follows the exploits of J.D. Fortune, a year removed from his time fronting the world famous rock band INXS.  After being kicked out of the Australian mega group by the original members, J.D. is left to start all over.  Director Andrew Nisker highlights Fortune’s struggles as the latter travels across North America in a desperate attempt to regain his lost stardom.

J.D. addresses rumors of drug use and alcoholism, touches on the reasons behind his departure from INXS, and even tries to start up a band of his own. Short on cash, he resorts to pawning instruments, crashing on couches, and visiting old friends for much needed wisdom. This eye-opening documentary sheds new light on the contestant we all rooted for on the reality show Rock Star: INXS, while also presenting a new side to the age-old story of the faded ex-rock star.

“We’re delighted to work with Andrew on his first bio-pic, which he crafts a delicate portrayal and search for empathy for a highly talented, but self destructive artist. We know both fans of J.D. as well as INXS will enjoy the roller coaster ride as they get a glimpse into the more human side of this music star,” said Greg Rubidge, President of Syndicado.

Take Action Films and Syndicado have partnered before, working together to release Chemerical on Amazon and Hulu, helping to bolster the film’s online profile. Syndicado will also be releasing Nisker’s iconic film Garbage! and the eye opening environmental doc Orange Witness.

“Syndicado has been a tremendous supporter of our films and we are so proud to extend an agreement for our new releases and catalogue titles,” says Andrew Nisker, the founder of Take Action Films.

Nisker is currently on the road filming Dark Side of the Chew, a feature-length documentary about the world’s second most common form of litter, chewing gum.
